Fractures

Fracture is usually the breakage of a bone. An open or compound fracture is a kind in which the broken bone pierces the skin. Fractures commonly happen because of accidents, unexpected falls, or injuries. Other causes are low bone density and osteoporosis, which cause erosion of the bones. Excessive usage can cause stress fractures, which are very small cracks in the bone. A bone fracture is a medical condition where the bone loses its continuity. Pathological fractures are the bone fractures that are caused by disease. There are a number of different types of fractures including fibular, comminuted, and air crack fractures. Bone healing is a process that occurs naturally and treatment revolves around giving the bone minimum conditions to heal it.
